Emirates Media Inc. Expansion of FM & TV Coverage in UAE

AlanDick assisted Emirates Media Inc. in expanding its FM and TV coverage in UAE.

The project involved five sites in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The sites were as follows:

• Liwa
• Habshan
• Jebel Dhana
• Hamdan Street
• Mohawi
• Liwa

AlanDick was required to undertake the following activities:

Liwa
Design, fabricate, supply, install, test and commission a 150m self supported tower along with a 8 tier 32 panel, 60kW, UHF antenna system along with dual 6 1/8” feeders, 16 panel, 10kW FM antenna system along with dual 3 1/8” feeders and dual antenna splitter patch panels.

Habshan
Design, fabricate, supply, install, test and commission a 8 tier, 32 panel, 80kW UHF antenna system along with dual 6 1/8” feeders, 24 panel, 10kW, FM antenna system along with dual 3 1/8” feeders and dual antenna splitter patch panel.

Jebel Dhana
Design, fabricate, supply, install, test and commission a 12tier, 48 panel, 120kW UHF antenna system along with dual 6 1/8” feeders, dual 60kW two channel combiner, 16 panel, 10kW FM antenna system along with dual 3 1/8” feeders and dual
antenna splitter patch panel.
 

Hamdan Street
Design, supply, install, test and commission a 25m roof top guyed mast, 4tier, 16 panel UHF antenna system to carry 1kW of digital and 5kW of analogue transmissions.

Mohawi
Re-engineer two existing FM antenna system to form a 12 tier, 48 panel, 50kW antenna system, existing dual 4” feeders were reused. Also included were 5 channel, 5-module FM channel combiner rated for 10kW input and a dual antenna splitter patch panel.

AlanDick's team worked around the clock to ensure that the Hamdan Street installation was completed in five days - in order to have the system on air for the UAE National Day. The total project took around 18 months to complete.
