In 2005 AlanDick signed a key CDMA (code division multiple access) network deployment contract with Laqtel, the operator for Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
Working alongside Nortel,
Sasktel, and other key partners, AlanDick
offered site surveying; turnkey civil
construction, installation and commissioning
of the Base Transceiver Station (BTS),
installation of the antenna and cable
systems, as well as the microwave equipment
on around 100 cell sites and allied systems
on Trinidad. AlanDick’s responsibilities
stretched across the North of the island of
Trinidad with Port of Spain being the
Southern-most city. |
Geraghty also mentioned the AlanDick team in Trinidad and how each and every team member was dedicated and excelling on this project promising the highest level of customer satisfaction. Laqtel can offer a high quality set of voice and data services to its customers, which includes both Trinidad and Tobago nationals, as well as roaming users from North America and elsewhere. “This is positive for both tourists and business people alike,” he said, noting that the benefits of a reliable voice and data cellular network is highly beneficial for tourism on the islands. This is where AlanDick’s two decades worth of cellular network installation, deployment and maintenance experience – stretching back to the earliest days of cellular in the 1980s – comes into play. AlanDick has a wealth of cellular network experience gained from helping operators to deploy their networks worldwide. This contract was an important one for AlanDick, as it was its first deployment in the Caribbean. |
