Radome Project – Australia

AlanDick was recently awarded the contract to supply four 11.8m geodesic radomes for use in air traffic control applications by a major multinational radar system supplier.

The installations will be in Sydney, Cairns, Coolangatta
and Brisbane, all of the sites
are in high wind speed areas. Therefore AlanDick’s team of specialist engineers performed crucial design activities to ensure that the radomes meet the demanding structural specifications as well as remaining compliant to RF needs.

The design and drawing activities are now complete and the radomes are currently being fabricated ready for the first installation, which is scheduled for early 2008. The remainder will then be installed over the following 24 months.
