Turnkey Radar Tower Project at Dubai Airport

AlanDick was called upon to project manage, design, fabricate and install three 40m Radar Towers, Shelters and 7m Radomes -  utilised for GMR (Ground Movement Radar) at the Dubai International Airport.

The sites were located inside the airport, within meters of the runway. Extreme safety measures were required to ensure the installation work did not interfere with airport operations.

The project was successfully completed within the accelerated programme timescale, allowing the end user to proceed with major expansion works of the airport.

Upon completion of the project, the client requested AlanDick to relocate one of the sites. AlanDick demonstrated its versatility and flexibility by dismantling the entire structure, transporting the dismantled panels across an operational runway and reassembling the entire system in under a week.

 Products used in this project:
Radomes

Radar Towers
Equipment Shelters

The main challenge of this particular project was to "fast track" to project completion. This was made possible by having local design, drawing, procurement, manufacture and fabrication. With supervisors working systematically, overseeing a team of riggers, the installation was successfully achieved within record breaking time.
