The latest helicopter lift of a UK DVB-T broadcast antenna, at Black Hill, was recently completed by AlanDick. This is the fourth antenna system that has been installed using a helicopter lift, as part of the UK Digital Switch Over (DSO) program.
The third of four sections is positioned at Black HillHelicopter lifts have also been used by AlanDick Broadcast at Darvel, Knockmore and Craigkelly during the critical UK DSO project.

Helicopter lifts are used during the UK DVB-T DSO project to ensure that tight project deadlines, that have been set by the UK government, are achieved. The use of helicopter lifts can save up to 10 days when compared to traditional installation methods.
The final section is positioned at Black Hill (an existing AlanDick UHF TV antenna can be seen lower down the mast)The risks associated with high winds and poor weather are reduced when this installation method is employed. |
