AlanDick continues as Principal Contractor under new scheme

October 2007 - AlanDick is pleased to announce that Network Rail has identified and confirmed the requirement for the company to continue working for Network Rail in the capacity of Principal Contractor under their new Principal Contractor Licensing Scheme.

Network Rail’s new scheme, which rationalises the Contractors Assurance Case process and other elements of the Supplier Assurance Framework, is based on the requirements of the Health & Safety Executive Approved Code of Practice – Managing Health & Safety in Construction.  Licence Holders are approved to discharge the duties associated with acting as Principal Contractor (as defined under the CD&M regulations 2007) for the specific Products and Services for which they qualify under the Link-Up v2 supplier qualification scheme.

AlanDick continues to provide the Relocatable Equipment Building (REB) integrated equipment solution for Network Rail’s GSM-R communications project and also install the Fixed Transmission Core and Access Nodes both within an REB solution and/or Network Rail’s existing operational infrastructure, e.g. Signal Boxes and similar buildings. Further work in support of these projects is provided by our Power Teams who are currently engaged in providing and installing secondary power systems for trackside legacy telecommunication equipment. Following our recent successful trial in the Scottish Region of the installation of desk-top dispatcher links into the FTN/GSM-R network, AlanDick is in line to extend this work into a national roll-out in Signal Boxes and Operations Centres throughout the UK.
